Built-in flash with wireless lighting

Here's how to take dramatic portraits against a backdrop of night scenery. First, mount the camera on a tripod so that you can capture the background lighting. To light your subject, use a remote wireless flash unit. You can throw your subject into relief by setting the built-in flash to commander mode and holding the wireless flash unit in one hand to light your subject from the side. Try positioning the flash unit in different locations until you get the results you want.
