Camera Functions
Auto Mode
In auto mode, the camera automatically optimizes settings to suit the subject. The scene mode selected by the camera is shown by an icon in the display.
Portrait:
Human portrait subject
Landscape:
Landscape or cityscape
Night portrait:
Portrait subject framed against a dark background
Close up:
Subject close to the camera
Night landscape:
Poorly-lit landscape or cityscape.
Auto:
Subject does not fall into the categories listed above.
Camera Functions
01. Press the MENU button to display the menus. Select Shooting mode.
02. Highlight Auto and press OK.
03. Frame the photograph.
Position your subject in the center of the frame.

04. Press the shutter-release button halfway to focus.
05. If the camera is able to focus, the selected focus area will be highlighted in green and a beep will sound (a beep may sound if the subject is moving).
If the camera is unable to focus, the focus area will be displayed in red.
If the subject is poorly lit, the AF-assist illuminator may light to assist the focus operation.
