High-Contrast Lighting

Active D-Lighting: OFF
Active D-Lighting: Extra High

When seen by the naked eye, high-contrast subjects—such as a brightly-lit outdoor scene viewed through a window from a dimly-lit interior—can be very dramatic. In photos, however, the brightly-lit exterior may be overexposed while details of the dimly-lit interior are lost. Active D-Lighting can help you achieve ideal contrast by increasing dynamic range and reducing loss of details in highlights and shadows.
