Exposure

Exposure Compensation: 0 EV
Exposure Compensation: +1.0 EV

High-contrast lighting or backlighting may leave the main subject slightly underexposed. Exposure compensation can be used to correct this. Choose higher values to increase brightness and soften contrast.

When adjusting exposure compensation, pay attention to depth of field. Increasing exposure compensation reduces depth of field, making it difficult to focus on moving objects. Adjust exposure compensation carefully to get the effect you want.

To use exposure compensation, select mode P, S, or A. Highlight exposure compensation and press OK to display options. Choose higher values to make the picture brighter, lower values to make it darker. Exposure compensation can also be adjusted by keeping the exposure compensation button pressed and rotating a command dial.
