
For the Mail on Sunday’s chief sports photographer Mark Pain, the 2010 Ryder Cup was just another routine assignment – until a misjudged stroke by Tiger Woods sent the ball flying into his lens. Instinctively pressing the shutter rather than ducking, Mark captured a frankly amazing image on his D3S that helped him win the prestigious Sports Photographer of the Year at the British Press Awards in April, the second time he has clinched the title in six years.
