For advertising photographer Andy Cahill, medium format has proved no match for the creative freedom, ease of use and image quality offered by the FX-format 24.5-megapixel D3X.
For much of Bournemouth-based Andy Cahill’s 28 years in the business as an advertising and commercial photographer, he has concentrated on medium format. Then in December 2008 came the launch of the revolutionary FX-format 24.5-megapixel Nikon D3X, offering a unique combination of ultra-high resolution, advanced and very flexible shooting capabilities and, of course, the acclaimed NIKKOR lens range. To Andy, like many other pro photographers at the time, it was too intriguing a prospect not to explore.
